We carefully observed the height at which the toy car started to move. As well as this, we measured and recorded the height of the books that the ramp was placed on using a ruler. We used the following materials foil, bubble wrap, sandpaper and fabric. We covered the ramp in different types of material to see the effect of changing the ramp surface. We set up an investigation to see how far a toy car would travel when released from a ramp. Recently, we have been exploring how things move on different surfaces. Willow class are enjoying learning about forces and magnets this term. "Tasting sorrel was strange, it was very sour." Rosie "I enjoyed planting seeds! It was fun!" Malek We had to put the seed in on its side." Benji "We've been learning how to plant sunflowers for other schools and the garden. "We don't want black flies because the vegetables won't grow." Rosalyn "They are bee friendly, to get pollen to make honey and we can use them for salad." Xavi "If they are planted next to something we eat, the black flies will land on this plant. Interestingly, Nasturtium petals are edible! Mel described it as a sacrifice plant it's purpose is to encourage the black flies to come away from the vegetable plants. As well as this, orange and yellow Nasturtium seeds were sown to plant next to the vegetable plants at school. Yellow Sunflower seeds were sown for the school garden and another school. Willow class had a great time gardening with Mel this morning.
